Educators in Illinois are working harder than ever to ensure more than 2 million students are college and career ready.  The transition to the new Illinois Learning Standards began in 2010.  Classroom teachers are at the heart of the transition focusing their own learning on instructional shifts and how they facilitate student learning.

The purpose of Teacher Voices is to share teacher stories and perspectives regarding curriculum and instructional changes as they implement the new IL ELA and Math Learning Standards.  Classrooms are the heart of the educational system.  The teacher perspective is invaluable to support local efforts. Please take a moment to listen to the many voices representing just a few of the classrooms around Illinois. You will hear their perspectives on the following topics:
Student engagement, classroom changes, professional development, teaching styles, parental issues, and suggestions for teachers.
